Description

Gin is produced by the repeated distillation of neutral alcohol. The base spirit is most commonly made from grain, although more economical gins may also use raw materials such as potatoes, corn, or sugar beet. The spirit is then redistilled through a botanical basket positioned either in the vapor dome or beneath the rectification column. This removable basket is filled with juniper berries, spices, and selected herbs. As the alcohol vapors pass through the botanicals, they extract the essential aromas and flavors before condensing into the final distillate. The result is a dry gin that is lighter in character than traditional genever, as it is not aged in wooden barrels.

Our product range includes double-jacketed stills with electric heating systems ranging from 12 to 52 kW, depending on the vessel capacity. Every project is individually tailored to the customer's requirements, including still sizes from 100 to 500 liters, equipment layout, and the complete system configuration.

Products 1 & 2 – Dry Gin / Genever

This versatile system is suitable not only for gin production but also for the distillation of fruit mashes. To achieve the highest-quality gins, the vapor dome is equipped with a hexagonal vapor distributor that directs the alcohol vapors through a modular vapor infusion chamber. The chamber can be connected, bypassed, or integrated in different sequences according to the desired production method. Thanks to the flexible piping arrangement, the vapor infusion chamber can be excluded from the distillation process entirely, or the rectification column can be bypassed so that distillation takes place exclusively through the vapor chamber. By simply changing the direction of the alcohol vapors, distillers can create a wide variety of gin styles with different aroma profiles.

Products 3, 4, 5, 6 & 10 – Premium Dry Gin

This method utilizes a column distillation system. The lower part of the still is heated while the upper section cools and condenses the alcohol vapors. The condensed liquid returns to the heated mixture, creating a continuous reflux cycle that is repeated many times to achieve exceptional purity. Before or during distillation, a botanical basket containing juniper berries and carefully selected herbs and spices is placed beneath the column or inside the vapor dome. The rising alcohol vapors pass through the botanical basket or the vapor infusion chamber, gently extracting the essential oils and aromatic compounds. The result is a refined, dry gin with a smooth, elegant flavor profile.

Products 7, 8 & 9 – Genever

With this traditional production method, the neutral spirit is heated together with the botanicals directly inside the still. The herbs and spices are placed in cotton bags inside the botanical basket. Initially, the mixture is gently heated to allow slow extraction, much like brewing tea, enabling the botanicals to release their essential oils and delicate aromas. Once the extraction phase is complete, the heating intensity is increased to begin full rectification through the botanical basket. This technique produces a premium-quality gin or genever with a richer body, more intense botanical character, and a fuller flavor.

As you can see, the possibilities for crafting gin are virtually endless. This is why the market is filled with such a remarkable diversity of styles, flavours, and qualities. Every distillery closely protects its own recipe, sharing only the well-known principles of gin production while keeping the exact combination of botanicals and production techniques a carefully guarded secret.
