Description
For larger-capacity distillation equipment (approximately 170 L and above), we recommend installing a vacuum mash transfer system. The system consists of several basic components, as shown in the following [diagram] in the gallery. The main component of the system is a water-ring vacuum pump, available in several variants and supplied together with a water reservoir. When switched on, the vacuum pump removes air from the piping and, via a safety separator vessel, creates a vacuum in the receiving vessel. This vacuum is then used to draw the fermented mash from the storage tanks. We manufacture receiving vessels with capacities ranging from 170 to 500 L. They can be equipped with a float mechanism that automatically switches off the vacuum pump when the vessel is full. The vessel can be preheated using waste heat from the distillation boiler and can also be equipped with a rinsing system and a DN100 inspection sight glass.
If the receiving vessel is not equipped with an automatic monitoring system and the operator fails to switch off the mash intake in time, the vacuum pump is protected by a safety vessel. If mash enters this vessel, it can be easily drained.
Main Advantages of Vacuum Mash Transfer
- High level of convenience for operators and customers
- Cleaner working environment around the distillation still
- Increased productivity of the distillation process
